Stradbroke Pre-school is situated in the grounds of Stradbroke Primary School, Suffolk. The Pre-school sessions are from 9.00am to 11.30am Monday to Friday and Lunch club sessions are from 11.30am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday. Children can start pre-school as soon as they are 2½ years old. They can attend up to 5 free pre-school sessions a week from the term after they are 3 years old. The Pre-school terms are in line with Stradbroke Primary School and we have close links with the teachers and the older children within the school which aid in making the transition to primary school as smooth as possible.
The pre-school views parents as a key partner in helping your child to learn and develop. We rely on a committee of volunteers (usually parents of children at the pre-school) to run and help to shape the service offered. As a registered charity the pre-school is funded by government grants and charity fund raising. See more detail in ‘The Management of Pre-School’ section.
We aim to provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age, giving them access to a wide and varied range of activities in a warm, friendly and caring environment.
Alongside this we aim to work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop, encouraging good behaviour, politeness and thought for others.
